When I went to London earlier this month, I was so pleased by how smoothly my experience went at Stansted airport. During my lifetime, I have done quite a bit of travelling, and although travelling used to be a fairly stress free experience, over the course of the last eight years, it has turned into an experience that is hectic at best, and at worst can turn into a downright nightmare. Obviously, I realise that the reason for this additional stress during travelling is to keep us all safe, and while I respect what authorities are doing to protect us all, that doesn’t mean that I can simply block out how much of a pain travelling can be at times.

Luckily, there are still times during my travels that I am reminded of the good ole’ days when things were much more simple, and my recent trip to London was one of the experiences that reminded me that travelling doesn’t always have to be a huge hassle.

To begin with, my plane not only arrived at Stansted airport on time, but it actually arrived there ahead of schedule. In a matter of minutes, the flight attendants were able to get all of us off of the plane, which was great because I hate landing and then waiting forever to actually get off of the plane. Getting through baggage claim was a breeze, and the real topper of my experience came when I was able to pick up my Stansted airport car hire in just a matter of minutes.

I know not every travelling experience will be nearly as pleasant as this one, but it’s nice to know that there are still opportunities for me to be pleasantly surprised!
