The weather this year has been overly bizarre. In the winter we had more snow than we have ever had in recent years and it lasted for much longer than expected. Then we had all the disruption that was caused by the Icelandic ash cloud which grounded many flights. So much money has been wasted on flights that haven’t taken off because of the weather and the problem is that it’s too late when you get to the airport only to find that your flight is cancelled. If people had kept up to date with the weather conditions during these two periods, they would not have booked flights at that time and would have saved themselves a lot of money (of course, this isn’t the case for those who booked their holidays well in advance of the events, but with so many people deciding to go on spur of the moment holidays it is strange that they didn’t take the weather, and the possible disruption it would cause, into account).
This summer however, there doesn’t look like being any disruption to flights because of the weather. This last week has seen a lot of rain but the good news is that this seems to be in the past now, with a sunny and hot week ahead. Temperatures are expected to soar to over 22°C with lows of only 18°C towards the end of the week. There will be a few cloudy moments but these will be short lived as the sun breaks through.
